Sophie Leicester BA Hons English, BSc Hons Nutritional Health, Dip BCNH mBANT, CNHC registered.
A realistic and balanced approach to healthy eating and nutrition for optimum health.
I am fully insured, a member of the professional organisation BANT (British Association for Applied Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy), and the CNHC* (Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council), which is supported by the Department of Health. I studied for four years at the University of Greenwich and BCNH – the UK College of Nutrition and Health, to get my BSc Honours degree in Nutritional Health, achieving a distinction in the Clinical Diploma. BCNH sees Nutritional Therapy as complementary to orthodox health care and firmly rooted in scientific evidence.
My background in education allows me to draw on many years of experience of working with people of all ages and from a range of backgrounds. As well as my Post Graduate Certificate in Education, I have an Advanced Diploma in Coaching, a diploma in Neuro Linguistic Programming, and have used and developed coaching and counselling skills throughout my career. Since practising as a Registered Nutritional Therapist I have also undergone further training in Health Coaching and I have also attending training about the emotional and psychological aspects of our relationship with food.
Having worked at Senior Management level in education for several years, I also have the experience and skills to lead training workshops for your staff, and have developed and delivered bespoke training programmes for organisations including Nursing Homes, Hospices and voluntary organisations.
For individual consultations, I am now working freelance based at 'the beauty clinic' in Sheffield, http://www.thebeautyclinicsheffield.co.uk/ However if you are unable to come into clinic, please contact me as we may be able to do the consultation via Skype or FaceTime, or I may be able to visit you in the privacy and comfort of your own home.
* The CNHC is a regulatory board for healthcare practitioners. The standards required for registration are very high and registration with the CNHC is becoming known as a hallmark of high quality. The Department of Health recommends that you consult practitioners who are registered with the CNHC. Find out more at: http://www.cnhc.org.uk/pages/index.cfm
