My Approach

Individual Consultations take place via Zoom or FaceTime on Mondays from 8.30am until 2pm.

If you don't have that technology or are unable to use it, I can also hold consultations by phone call if necessary.

Please note I am currently not taking any more NEW clients .

However, if you are a current client, OR have been a client of mine in the past, please do get in touch. Please be aware though that there may be a wait of several weeks before your appointment.

Nutrition affects the whole person, so in all my consultations there is time to fully discuss every aspect of your health and well-being; to be listened to and heard in a private, caring, supportive environment. We will look at all aspects of your health, including your energy levels, and your lifestyle, as well as your diet. Health is a combination of many systems in the body, and exploring how each factor contributes to your symptoms will enable us to work out an approach together that will benefit you and fit into your life.

I am particularly interested in helping people lose OR gain weight, as this is a complex area that affects many people. I use my nutrition knowledge but combine that with my knowledge of psychology around food as well as coaching and counselling skills. It is an area that affects me personally and I feel I am able to bring real understanding to your situation.

I have always been interested in food and cooking, and I believe that food is to be enjoyed and appreciated by everyone in a balanced and healthy way. I believe in a realistic approach to healthy eating, making healthy changes that have a long term effect and fit into your lifestyle. Many of my clients have been surprised at how small changes can have a profound effect on their health, with their original symptoms improving alongside others that they had not considered. While diet and lifestyle is always the centre of any advice, sometimes supplements and / or tests may be suggested alongside, although these are always optional.

Many of my clients have already researched a lot about nutrition and healthy eating and are already knowledgable in this area. My approach is to help you work through the maze of information available and understand what is evidence-based and suitable for your personal situation, as well as, perhaps more importantly, to help you put those changes into place. Many people feel they KNOW what to do, but are unable to do so consistently. Often, some aspects of making healthy changes to nutrition and lifestyle are in fact to do with emotions and feelings around food, so I use my coaching and counselling skills to help you make sustainable, healthy changes to your lifestyle.

I first became interested in nutrition when my children were young, as I wanted to help them develop into healthy strong individuals. I wanted to know how to provide them with the nutrients they needed through food they liked and enjoyed. When I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism several years ago, I wanted to have some control over my own health. Nutrition is a passion for me and I reallyenjoy sharing that interest with all my clients.

Please do not hesitate to call or email if you would like to find out more about my approach to nutrition.
